  主讲人介绍：

Dr. Ganz received M.D. from University of California, Los Angeles, and Ph.D. from California Institute of Technology. He currently serves as professor at UCLA. Dr. Ganz is Vice Chair of Department of Medicine at UCLA, President of Bioiron Society (2009-2011) and Chair of Gordon Conference on Antimicrobial Peptides. He has been a leading scientist in the effort to uncover the molecular basis of iron homeostasis. He played a pivotal role in the discovery of hepcidin and continues to lead the way in the ongoing exploration of hepcidin’s effects. Recently, he discovered that erythroferrone is the long sought erythroid regulator of hepcidin and iron metabolism. The importance of Dr. Ganz’s work is evidenced through the publication of his research in many high-impact journals, including Science, Nature, N Engl J Med, Nat Med, Nat Genet, Nat Rev Drug Discov, Nat Rev Immunal, and et al. The total citation of his scientific publications is more than 60,000 times.
